Parcel Property has partnered with the WA Police Force to expand technology that will enhance safety and strengthen police response capability at our Indi estate in Yanchep.

The installation of new Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras will boost community safety by supporting efforts to locate missing persons as well as alerting police to vehicles that are linked to crime, including stolen vehicles, in the growing community.

Although this is the first ANPR installation at a Parcel estate, the system is already widely used across WA with hundreds of ANPR-enabled devices installed at main roads, shopping centres, service stations and other high-traffic locations.

The technology is designed to capture vehicle and number plate movements.

Parcel Property General Manager, Jeremy Cordina, said proactive community safety at Indi was the motivation for funding the camera.

“As the estate continues to grow and more residents move into the area, this technology will provide an additional layer of reassurance,” Mr Cordina said.

“When we reviewed statistics showing ANPR technology’s effectiveness in improving safety and deterring crime, the decision was an easy one. We are proud to introduce Indi Yanchep as the first Parcel Property‑funded ANPR camera, and it certainly will not be the last.”

Acting Inspector Blake Henry, State Operations Command, WA Police Force, said connecting Indi Yanchep to the wider ANPR network would provide police with another tool to help protect the community.

“If a vehicle of interest enters the area, the ANPR system will alert police who can assess the incident and allocate the appropriate response,” Acting Inspector Henry said.

“It is a strong example of how developers and police can work together to support safer neighbourhoods. Every additional ANPR site strengthens the network across Western Australia and helps police respond to calls for help from the community.”

Mr Cordina said putting customers first was at the heart of Parcel Property’s approach.

“We are not just building houses, we are building communities, and supporting initiatives that provide residents with greater peace of mind is central to that commitment.”

Thanks to Opticomm for helping us deliver the connectivity and infrastructure required for the ANPR camera.
