Weekends in Wellard: our top picks of things to see and do

Sometimes it feels like the weekend flashes by in an instant, only for Monday to arrive again in the blink of an eye. If you’re looking to make the most of your weekends, it’s definitely worth doing your research and putting together a hit list of all the places you’re keen to check out. We’ve done all the hard work for you and rounded up a list of some of our favourite things to see and do when Saturday and Sunday roll around again.

For the kids
As the weather gets warmer, it’s a perfect time to get the kids out of the house and explore some local gems. For little ones with energy to burn, the Adventure and Skate Park is a sure-fire way to keep them entertained for hours. This impressive playground is home to a climbing tower, rope ladders, interactive play equipment, climbing structures and plenty of space to zip around the BMX and skate park – to name a few! Just a short walk from Wellard Square Shopping Centre, this adventure park is sure to impress kids (and adults!) of all ages.

If you’re looking for something a little more low key, take your brood to Kwinana Public Library, where an amazing collection of stories await. Storytime sessions are held during the week so why not introduce your kids to your favourite childhood books and hold your own story sessions or discover some new narratives together.

Eat up!
We’re of the firm belief that weekends are for eating all of the food, and if you’re looking for a local go-to spot for brunch, lunch or dinner, then look no further than The Well Tavern & Bistro. You can’t go past one of their delicious burgers, a parmi or fish and chips on a Saturday night and, take it from us, their weekend breakfast menu is worth getting out of bed for. Chocolate waffles anyone?! View the menu and book your next delicious meal online here: https://www.thewelltavern.com.au/

For those with an adventurous palate, Bliss Momos in Wellard Square is a must try. Serving up fresh, authentic Nepalese cuisine to dine in or takeaway and enjoy at home, the team here are passionate about delivering the best food, coffee and service with a big smile all day long. Their Nepalese curries are a standout but if you’re in need of a breakfast, lunch or coffee fix then Bliss Momos have you covered! View their menu and order online here: https://blissmomos.com/
